
Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. The actress is an American actor. In a career spanning thirty years, she's well-known for her performance across different genres of screen and on stage. Janney has been nominated for two Tony Awards and has been presented with one Academy Award as well as a British Academy Film Award. Janney was raised within Dayton and Boston with her parents, received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for her to study further after graduating Kenyon College. Janney was first seen on television in 1999 as C. J. Cregg, a role she played in NBC's drama series The West Wing (2000-2006). She was awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards for this role. For her portrayal of Margaret Scully, a Showtime actress in the period drama Masters of Sex, Janney won this year's Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding guest actor in a drama Series. She is most famous for her character Bonnie Plunkett.
